Ir would have been helpful to include the option for ART support, overall i do think the tablet is less responsive after the update, i hope acer are looking into this so that we may be given a patch

Thank you. Are you saying that the sound quality got worse when upgrading from Jelly Bean to KitKat, or has that nothing to do with the upgrade?
Also, please can anyone tell me if there are any benefits upgrading from Jelly Bean to KitKat on this device, or whether it is probably best to keep it on Jelly Bean (4.2.2) for now?

Thank you for the advice. Acer - do you acknowledge that Kitkat seems to be causing some adverse issues on the A1-830, and is there any chance that there will be a fix for these in the near future?

Look at this topic. This problem is not solved for me, still freezs.

Tablet was working fine before the update, and now it keeps freezing and rebooting very often.
Mostly when I turn the WIFI on or off, but also when doing seemingly nothing.
Also, it doesn't remember my WIFI password, and I have to keep entering it every single time I want to connect.
All of this problems appeared after the latest system update, and my new tablet
is now rendered pretty much useless, because it freezes up on its on volition.
Very disappointing.
I feel like the only solution is reverting to an older system version, before this crappy update,
but as far as I know, it is not yet posssible,
so I'll just not use my tablet until this is solved by Acer, and hope that it will be solved.
NOTE: factory reset did nothing to help. If anything, the tablet now seems to be freezing up even more often.

Thank you for the feedback, hasselbaink.
Acer - Many of us really like the A1-830 tablet, but those still on Jelly Bean (like myself) and others thinking of buying this tablet will be very disappointed with the problems we are reading here that have been experienced by those upgrading the device to KitKat. Please can you let us know whether something is being done about this? If you do not respond, people will assume that once we have bought the tablet, the adverse issues with KitKat are just something that we are being left to put up with. I hope that your Customer Support is better than that, so please can you reassure us?

Hi Newboy,
At this time, I'm not aware of any systemic issues with the KK update and A1-830, I've got it on my unit without issue. I do see 20-30 posts in the last month, there doesn't seem to be a consistent issue developing, it's mostly one or two people saying that they have an issue with a specific piece of software. We have multiple tens of thousands of these in the US alone that updated successfully. That doesn't mean that there isn't an issue, and we'll be glad to help. I would suggest do a hard reset of tablet and if you continue to have issues and you're not gaining traction with those specific issues on the community, contact your local Acer support team and take a look at repair options.
Thanks,
Cory

Cory, thank you for the reply.
Seeing how my (and many other user's) problems occured after the system update,
it is fair to say that the problem is, in fact, in the KK itself.
I have tried the hard reset, but it hasn't helped me at all.
Also, the update went without any problems, they occured after I succesfully updated my tablet.
Please read my post above, for more details.
I cannot believe that your answer is simply "It's not our fault, take your tablet to service."
The least you can do is allow the users to rollback to 4.2 SW.

@Acer-cory, thank you forresponding to our issues, Facebook messenger and hangouts dialler are both now working, I suspect other apps with problems will be updated to, yet can you give us a time scale as to when a factory image of version 4.2 will be available in the support section of the Acer website (I notice the Iconia A810 has images there...) I feel my tablet was faster and more reliable on 4.2? Thank you
