You should be seeing something like this...

Yeah, I'm still on Jelly Bean because I'm skittish about upgrading.
But the general consensus is that KitKat isn't going to screw up everything, right?
I've only had the tablet about 16 hours now, so it's not like there's a bunch of stuff on it to lose!
So everyone thinks the thing to do is upgrade to KitKat, yes?
I guess i just need that reassurance that all will go well.
FYI, I am not on any social media, so none of the Facebook problems concern me at all.
Thanks for the help, everyone!

If you want multiple users then Kit Kat is the (only) way to go. I can only speak for myself....I have had no issues so for. The only social app I use is FaceBook. And have no issues with it. Go ahead and drink the Kool Aid...

Yeah, if you want multiple user accounts then KitKat is for you.
I've found my tablet is running better on KitKat. Only issue I had was messenger but I just backdated it a version and it worked fine.

Awesome, thanks.
I just needed someone to hold my hand and tell me it will all be alright.

Oh, one more thing:
If I upgrade to KK, is it correct that I won't be able to save apps (or whatever) to the SD card?
Honestly, I haven't even figured out how to access the SD card in Jelly Bean, though I see it mounted in Settings.
I figured the tablet itself could be a kind of neutral space and we could each have our own stuff on our respective SD cards. Is that possible with the multiple-user setup? I figured if we both had our own apps installed on the machine, the 16 gigs would run out pretty quick.
Keep in mind, this is my first tablet (I have an iPod Touch 4 though) and my first experience with Android, so if i sound like a moron, that's why!

Yet another question:
My tablet always shows my location as my previous address.
I assume that must be because my wireless router was initially set up there. (Am I way off? It's the only reason I could think of.)
How in the world can I get my tablet to recognize my actual location?
It thinks I'm in a major metropolitan area instead of the middle of the woods.

And another thing...
I'd love to install Mame on this tablet.
Anyone have an opinion about that as to whether I should upgrade?
BTW, I downloaded the update. Thought I was installing it, but when i saw the Settings all said the same things as before, I discovered it's yet to be installed, so i still haven't commited.

I have just bought the A1-830 Tablet. I am really enjoying using it, and don't want to ruin my experience by upgrading from Jelly Bean (4.2) to KitKat (4.4.2) if it has issues that will have an adverse affect on the Tablet. According to the posts I have read on this website, the problems Kitkat seems to have casued on the A1-830 include:
- Rear camera slow to work
- Facebook Messenger not loading (I don't want to have to try and install a previous version of it to get it to work)
- Street View not working in (Google) Maps
Has anyone installed KitKat and not had the same problems that I list above?
What are the benefits of installing KitKat, and would you recommend me (and others) to upgrade to KitKat and put up with the consequences?
Finally, please could anyone from Acer let us know if there is likely to be an OTA software update available to address the issues with KitKat that have been reported, and if so, when?
Thank you anyone for your help/advice.
