I have a number of Acer Iconia One's which i use to view my CCTV cameras that are fixed to the wall and permanently plugged in. After a while being plugged in they turn off and go into charging mode with just the battery charging icon showing on screen with a full charge.

Is there anyway to prevent the tablet from turning off when plugged in permanently

it must stay on when on charge, not turning off by itself.

are you sure is not going to standby?

if it really powers off, that's an issue; you can try to do a factory reset (backup all your personal data first): settings/backup & reset - factory data reset

if it still power off, contact Acer support service if still in warranty.

The tablets are plugged in permanently

After say a while or probably when fully charged they go off and only the large battery charging icon is shown (showig fully charged), you then have to turn the tablet back on so its not like they go into standby or sleep as you have to turn back on

when you press the power button, do you see the Acer logo boot animation or it goes to the lockscreen/homescreen?

if you are under wrranty, give  Acer support service a call, not normal behaviour
