By the way, I also had these random hangs with Windows 7.

I'm just creating an DVD with the anniversary update.

Will see when I have time to do an Install.

My Z5801 has had this issue for so long now. It was doing the hang up with Windows 10 so I just replaced my HDD with a brand new 2TB WD blue version and then reinstalled Windows 8 pro and it still does it, so cant be an issue with the operating system or the HDD surely?

Anyone have any more ideas? Its infuriating. Im trying to get the free upgrade to Windows 10 at the moment and the process fails and reverts back to 8 again as it keeps hanging on restarts.

    Hello.
Same problem here! Acer z5801 - Windows 10 Creators Update installed!
Tried with new HDD normal and hybrid - notrhing!
    Tried with SSD - nothing!
Trying to solve this problem for 6 months.

    1. No problem in device manager
    2. No issue driver incompatibility
    3. Trying to restart with no device conected
    5. Uncecked fast boot, no result.
    4. Working fine with windows 7 !
    ...................................................
In my opinion seems to be a BIOS issue!
This problem starting since i've installed windows 10 !
    Any suggestions ?

    Hi,
Give this a try, go to the link below and download "Add AHCI Link Power management.....", right click the downloaded file and click "Merge".
Then go to Advanced Power Options ( as in the top of the tutorial), expand Hard disk, click AHCI Link Power management, select HIPM+DIPM with the drop down arrow, click Apply and OK. HTH.

First install the hard disk on other computers and install the Win10 system, then enter the user's desktop, install the hard drive back to the Z5801 and install the driver. I hope this will help you.
