Hi,
I've tried to upgrade the wireless lan driver. Tried to turn off bluetooth. But all of them gave me unstable connection.
Finally I gave static IP Address for my wifi interface. So far it is stable. I'll update if it is unstable.
Here is the tips if you come to a new location:
- from control panel, disable static ip, use dynamic one as well as dynamic dns
- goto command prompt. type ipconfig /all
- from the output, written down the ip you got and dns server set from dhcp
- go back to control panel and set wifi interface to static. set the ip address and dns address you wrote previously.
To change to static/dynamic IP:
- Goto control panel, click View Network Status and Tasks
- Locate Wifi interface, click on it
- New window appears, Click Properties
- Find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click on it and click Properties (do not uncheck)
- Fill in the IP Address and DNS Address
Hopefully it saves your day.

Hey. For some odd reason, my laptop won't connect to my wireless network even though the signal strength is very strong. How do I fix this? The only way I can connect is if I move the laptop within 20 ft of the router

Me too! I am so frustrated! I can't stay connected for more than 5 minites. I have had customer service help me with a bios repair and have taken it to the Microsoft store where I purchased this machine. I just want to throw it out the window. Help!!!!! Please post if you know of any solutions. My MacBook never had problems like this.
