WiFi won't turn on on my win 8.1 pc. The option to turn on wifi is faded. Device manager shows the device is working perfectly. The driver is "WLAN_Atheros_10.0.0.263_Win8.1x64". I have reinstalled the driver. Dont know what to do more.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We recommend you to first check if the wireless connection switch or key on your Acer Aspire V5-573G is turned On (if you have not checked this already) so that the device is permitted to connect with wireless networks. Usually, on Acer notebooks and netbooks, the wireless switch or key is placed in one of the following ways:
    1. A dedicated button, located above the keyboard.
    2. A toggle switch, located on the front or side of the device.
    3. The FN and the key with the wireless icon on your keyboard. Usually, the key combination "Fn + F3" (without quotes) is used.

The key can be identified by looking for a wireless connectivity icon. To know more, you can refer to the following Acer support page:
    http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1304

If you are still not able to identify the wireless connection switch or key, you may need to refer to the user manual of your device for more details. In case, your wireless connection switch is already ON but still you are not able to connect to wireless network, you can refer to the following Acer support page for some more troubleshooting options:

Thanks for your support. I have tried the third option before. But couldn't get it working. The reason is that I have misunderstood the toggling between bluetooth and wifi.

Suppose Wifi and bluetooth are both turned off and you are pressing "Fn + F3", then the toggling works like this,

                  1. Pressing "Fn + F3" once turns on bluetooth only.

                  2. Pressing "Fn + F3" again turns on wifi and turns off bluetooth.

                  3. Pressing "Fn + F3" again turns on both bluetooth and wifi.

                  4. Pressing "Fn + F3" again turns off both bluetooth and wifi.

Now my wifi is working fine. Feeling happy and stupid.
