Hi,

I have anAcer Aspire E1-570 (i3 6MB version) which is great except for one thing - the fan makes a lot of noise - it is idling constantly with a whirring noise (or faint constant 'purr') which is offputting. Very ocassionally is will ramp up and spin more and I accept this, but the noise I'm talkingabout is while it is not actually doing much - or anything. Is this right?

Did the noise with the fan start recently? You can try blowing the system out with compressed air, to see if the problem is being caused by excessive dust. If the system fan is still noisy, it is possible it is failing, and could require repair. I recommend you contact technical support in your region, if cleaning out the system does not resolve the issue.
