why does my acer 5750 turn the screen off once i start my computer and close the laptop?

ok this is kinda hard to explain so ill do my best.

once i start my computer up, and im on the internet/apps or anything related to just after signing in my name , when i close my computer and i try to start it up again by pressing a key or power button, it turn on then about 3 seconds after it turn the screen OFF, however the computer itself is like in hibernation mode until i press a key or power button...

all of this happened after i installed windows 8, they have horrible customer service in my personal experiences.
