there is no pointer on my computer, the touch pad won't work nor will it find a blue tooth mouse

Hi,  My laptop has lost it's pointer,  wouldn't reboot after automatically repairing a hard drive problem (which I never had) and now I've put it back to factory settings and still no pointer nor will it connect to a blue tooth mouse.

Any suggestions?  the touch pad also will not work,  how do I get it to work?

I had similar problems with the synaptics touchpad...I tried all ways to get it to work and in the end bought a mini wireless mouse...cost me a couple of quid from eBay and works fine...I read on the web of many people having this problem.
