    Hello lougo2

At the top right of your screen, there is  search window.  On the left you can choose whether to search the community, the board you are on, or the knowledge base.  Be as concise as possible with your search terms and that will get you more relevant returns.

What is the difference between category and board in the search function?  I assume that community means the complete forum.

    Hi Leho

The "category" designation is part of the forum design that is not currently in use. You will get the same results returned whether you choose category or board.

As a forum grows, it is possible that a given board could be broken into multiple boards under a single category, for example, a retailer of tvs, may have a forum with a board just for televisions. But as more members join and express interest in various brands or models, the forum would break down that board into a category of "Televisions" under which there would be boards for Samsung, Phillips, etc.

If you wanted to search for anything related to the XYZ tv, you could search at the board level, but also at the category level in case the XYZ was also mentioned in posts on other boards under the TV category.

    I hope that helps.
