It depends on the socket, if the motherboard can handle the extra power reqs of a I7

etc. One things for sure, unless it's one of the new Haswell's, it will run hotter and

Acer's are not keen on running hot. I've updated the cores on a 5315 to a Dual Core 2

    T-8100 with great success, a 7520 to a Turion 64, and a 5742 from a I5-460M to 560m

and it's pretty fast with new drive, ram, and updated BIOS.

I would sugget checking out what MIGHT  go via this site and another site, but once

one does this, all warranty would of course be void.

Thank you for answering , don't have to worry about warranty 2011 7750G 4 slots for memory, it has a G2 socket, aka-LGA-989,decided to go with INTEL I7 3840QM, CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory ,if it looks like it's going to try to run hot i'll add ex-fan or liquid cool. what does everyone think?    thank you
