After installing an HD wireless mouse onto my Acer Aspire One, the Synaptics Touchpad does not operate at all even though the troubleshooting feataure indicates it is operating properly.  It always defaults to the wireless mouse. I have tried deavtivating the wireless mouse, and have reset to the manufacturer factory settings.  This did not re-activate the Touchpad.

Try Fn + F7. This turns the touchpad on and off.

Hi tabbirkatz, tried your suggestion of fn + f7 and did not work. It's like the wireless mouse has taken control and it is the only pointer that works.

OK...I was using the wrong <Fn> key before.  I discovered my mistake and used the proper keys and the touchpad is working!!!  Thanks a million. I never knew. I will always remember this solution!
