Sim card Acer Iconia A100

Recently installed a sim card in my a100 and doesn't seem to be accepting info. have changed settings to install info to card  but no results. wondering if there is some setup involved. the tablet recognizes that there is a card installed.

Also, can apps be transferred to card to save memory space?

Thanks to anyone who answers.

ps. can memory be upgraded since my tablet only has 5 gb and apps take up 3.52

You say, "SIM card" above, but do you mean an SD Card?

Get a File Manager app to move files.
