I have had this laptop now for 2 weeks the first week it worked really well at any location in the house with full signal connected at 130mbps. stream a lot of videos to my tv which the router sits right next to the tv there for the laptop is within 5 ft a lot. While it sits on the tv stand it connects at about 32 mbps and it constantly buffers media. So i put it in my lap about 5 ft away and it shows a 130 mbps and yet it actually buffers worse then it did. I plugged in my usb dlink wireless n card and it connects at 240 mbps and i have no problem streaming anything no matter if its right next to the router. Now I'm not genuis by no means but I do have commen sense so by this test it makes sense that acer needs to get this resolved by giving us a new driver so the broadcam will work properly and fast. Also I checked my bandwitdh with a ping of about 36 with the broadcam and i was getting close to 9 mbps down and 5 up, with my dlink its giving me a ping of 19 and close to 21 mpbs down with closer to 6 up so my other deal with this is my d link is 2 years old and they honestly put a crappy wireless reciever in the laptop when they easily could have a better one in. and the results are me sitting in the same spot.

Hi! I'm from Mexico and I'm a bit frustrated with my new R7. It's a 330 snid and the WiFi connection via internal module is a painfull experience. I also bought an USB Wifi and the Wifi Signal and speed are improved. I had read all this 53 pages and followed the user instructions but I don't have any improvement. I don't wanna have the Dlink usb always, and also this laptop isn't cheap. I could say that my R7 Snid 330 is also with the WiFi issue, at least in Mexico (so, not only the <328 snid models are problematic).
Please, give an advice of this problem on your page, because it's unconfortable to be on my home, college or work and the WiFi is a pain in... and I really need a functional laptop for all my tasks.![]()
Ps: This PC was launched on may... and some days ago Acer shown the new R7 with haswell, and will be launched on the last quarter of the year on europe.. -_-![]()
I want one of those...

I am having problems with my wlan aswell.
My acer aspire 5739 suffered from a similar problem.
Luckily I could solve that problem by connection the antennas the other way around.
After that it worked fine.
Has someone tried something like that yet?

I am not sure what you mean by "connection the antennas the other way around".

the black and white cables were plugged in the wrong way on the card.
after changing it:
black -> main
white -> aux
it worked fine.

If your Wi-Fi still doesn't work well, try this. MAYBE it will work:

Vince53 do you own the Aspire R7?
I tried tweaking all of those settings and had no luck. I now see the newer models have the same problem. Best to wait for the next generation of this machine.
