I guess the Geek Squad never heard of Google. Teach them how to use and type in "Acer R7 bad WIFI".
It will be a learning experience for them for sure.

Hi all
Fyi I have an email from acer statid that the problem has been fixed for snid 328....and upwards
I had initially bought one snid 320... and it was a lemon...eventually after sending it back twice got a full refund.
My daughter has now bought one snid 330, and she advises me its fine.
I appreciate I have posted this information before, but it may be useful to new visitors.
It seems that the blue dot designates refurbished machines

I got tired of waffling and picked one of these up from Best Buy on saturday. First windows computer in over 10 years. It didn't take long to remind me why I stopped using windows in the first place. So many minor annoyances. That being said, I still think touchscreens are the way to go, and the R7 is designed and built incredibly.
Well... except for the wifi. I've got SNID 318 and the wifi is not very good. The first day it worked "ok" and would pretty consistently give me 5 down and 5 up (much less than everything else in my house, but still usuable). Now I'm pretty much always hovering around 3 down and 1 up... which is not very usable.

Just bring it back to BB and wait for new shipments. Practice patience. ![]()

I loved this thing so much, I've been to three other best buys in my area, all are SNID's of 319, 320 or 321.
two more to go, but I'm betting they got all of them off the same container ship and i'm SOL for getting one with an SNID of 328 or greater unless I wait another month or three. Ah well.
Hell, maybe I'll simply wait for the haswell/pen version.

Update. I sent cory a PM late last night asking for a Level 2 rep to call me. 10:00 am this morning I had a call from the very helpful Charles and they are shipping me a replacement, I should have it in two days. I'll keep you all updated on the outcome.
