so the the USB Adapter worked but .. when an next to the raouter its giving me a download sped of 50.2 .. when i talk it out to the living room its down to 14.4 .... i mean its better than 1.3 lol !! but is that how the USV works or is the problem still affecting it ??? thanks

SWEET!!! MY NEW LAPTOP JUST CAME & IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven't gone into any of the settings so I'm not sure what's different but here's the scoop:
It's NEW (NOT REFURBED)
IT WORKS AWESOME![]()
The box has a small blue dot on the label & the SNID is actually a lower # than the one that didn't work. Not sure if that's significant or not.
The call to Level 2 was maybe 10 minutes tops, the laptop arrived within 3 days...the process worked fine for me.
MY ADVICE FOR EVERYONE....CONTACT LEVEL 2 TECH AND GET A NEW ONE! Don't try updates etc, at this point, those things are a huge waste of time.

Blue dot does not mean refurbished...verified this with the level 2 tech.

Acer cory was very helpful to me, he got a level 2 technician to contact me very quickly and theyre sending out for my laptop. I am pleased with the service so far yet disappointed that we were not offered any compensation (such as a replacement unit that i can use for the 10-14 days that I will be without a laptop, heck even a couple months of free microsoft word would have been appreciated).
All thats missing is a show from acer that our business is appreciated and that we are valued customers.
My family owns a restaurant and if someones food is late we always offer them a discount, or a drink on the house, and these people aren't spending 1000$+ at my place. Most of us here have spent over 1000$, when you include the warranty I have spent 1460$ so far, so I do not think I am being unreasonable by saying that I feel unnapreciated by this company, the gentlemen on the phone was very nice, however didn't even so much as apologize for the inconvenience that I am and will be experiencing for the next little while.
But like I said, the hate towards acer cory is completely unwarranted from some of the people on this thread, he has been helpful to everyone so far. The process acer is taking is not his fault, blame acer, not him.
Not trying to be a brown nose lol, but some people here are pointing their anger in the wrong direction.
Hope this post helps some, it seems like this problem is becoming more well known through the company and they are willing to repair your unit without asking many questions.

Besides the obvious wifi problem, are you guys happy with the machine, it's performance?
I'm interested in purchasing the model with i5, 12GB DDR3 if still available and 120 GB SSD.
