Thanks Dereko!
Can we tell us what your adapter version is now? Has that changed?
Now we are getting somewhere. It looks like they did a major replacement on your antenna! Maybe due to that, they needed to also replace the memory to make it compatible?
If the picture is not visible, here are the parts that are in the list.
SODIMM.4GB.DDR3L-1600KIN
ANTENNA.AUX.GASKET
ANTENNA.MAIN.GASKET.A

@njcurveball,
MSinfo32 says that the BIOS version is 2.08, 10-7-2013 (dd-mm-yyyy). I don't know what they mean by a rework. I listed the parts below the image.

Thanks Dereko!!!
So from what I can see on other forums, the Antenna installed is not the right one. Makes sense now that we see what kind of repair they need to do.
Please comment on this ACER!
The Aspire R7 already have a main and aux internal antenna, but because the device has certain WiFi problem with the pre-installed 802.11n adapter, it might be worth getting the correct antennas with the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

Hi njcurvebal,
Don't bother wasting your time and effort re-installing Windows and the drivers, went through all that for nothing since it didn't solve anything.

Thanks peterr!
It appears to be a hardware problem with the antenna, but ACER does not want to admit it. It is common in the computer industry to let units go to market with known issues.
They figure most consumers won't even bother requesting a repair. But in this case, the WIFI is a major issue. I have seen posts on the Best Buy site that say follow the directions from Acer-Cory.
If Cory is reading this, please share those directions.
Thanks!

@njcurveball,
How can I find the adapter version? I don't think that Acer replaced it, because it is not in the parts list.

In Microsoft Windows 8*

This is all I found from Acer-Cory. Basically it says if your unit isn't working, you are at their mercy to send it back, wait, hope they fix it, if not send it back, wait, hope they fix it, etc. etc.
If it is known problem, say it. If there is a fix that can only be done by acer then isn't it right to recall the units? I know it is too costly to do that, but the Acer reputation is suffering greatly!
This is the equivalent of knowing Hamburgers have food poisioning, but still selling them!

Here is one clue that may be worth following up on:
Sounds like the POTENTIAL problem is related to the laptop trying to continuosly connect to a bandwith in the 5 mhz range instead of the 2.4 range which is what most of us have...he said it shows up as a slow connection but is actually a symtom of the laptop attempting this continuous connection...I'm not a techy, just repeating what he said might be the issue.
We have 3 computers (2 great Dell laptops, and the Acer desktop with the WiFi problem), plus a WiFi only Motorola tablet, and two Android smartphones, all going through a high-quality dual-band Asus Wireless N router. I can tell you that the 5MHz bandwidth range is extremely slow, to the point of barely working, regardless of where you are in the house (or outside), so I have totally disabled the 5MHz band on our WiFi connections, and only use the 2.4MHz band for internet connections. I don't know the technical details behind the huge speed difference between the two bandwidth ranges, but I can tell you that if you are connecting using a 5MHz band, you should expect connection problems and incredibly slow speeds. Hope that info helps.
