r4cdeleon, you say that you don't have the wi-fi issue, but you only post a speed for the R7. Can you tell us what the network speed is supposed to be, or what another device connects at? My connection at work is 100 Mbps, and my other computers get that, but right now the R7 is getting 12 Mbps on it. That would be fine if the network speed was only 12 Mbps, as it is at my house (where I usually only 0.5 Mbps on the R7!), but it's not fine on a 100 Mbps network. Can you give us more information for comparison, please? Thanks!
Also, I think the Best Buy prices fluctuate somewhat, as I got mine at $899 a couple weeks ago, and the next day it went back up to $949. The sales rep. told me they adjust regularly. I wouldn't read too much into the adjustment now.
Acer-Cory -- does contacting our local support mean contacting Best Buy or contacting Acer directly? Last time I emailed Acer support, they asked me to send in the unit at my own expense, which I of course did not do since I was following this thread and had read about others' experiences of spending the money and wasting the time for shipping only to receive their R7 back with the same problem. It makes me far less confident that sending in my unit now will actually fix the problem.

Take a look at message 76 if you´re posting your experience.
Here´s how the malfunctioning looks like:
INTERNAL:
Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter (driver version was the newest for windows 8, now it´s from some other acer product for windows 7, but results are exactly the same) Signal strength reports "EXCELLENT" <---!!! And here is the speed test: http://s23.postimg.org/i7mes608r/test2.jpg
EXTERNAL:
802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card (http://www.sveon.com/fichaSNT1020.html) Signal strength is normal/good. And here is the speed test: http://s22.postimg.org/7libru23l/test1.jpg
The Aspire R7 is not moved and the external Adapter is practically right next to the computer. And there are several networks in the area. The hotel has TWO routers with the same network name, so one has to enable roaming to pick the fastest.
RESULT: As you can see, even with excellent signal strength the internal WiFi adapter is more than 10 times slower, because the pages hardly loads (they don´t) despite its download speed. The internal WiFi and Bluetooth adapter is as good as none-functioning. But else the R7 is still the best! And Acer support still sucks...

BlueCrab, I got comcast broadband with 25mbs download and I am getting at least 18mbs-21Mbs everytime when I do a speed test on the R7. I also have a desktop that is getting similar result.

r4cdeleon, are you saying that you got an internal WiFi adapter with the brand "Comcast" and if we all get our local Acer repair shop to change our internal Broadcom WiFi Adapter to a Comcast internal WiFi adapter, it will work 100% ? Even when there are other networks in the area etc
Btw does Your internal Comcast adapter also have bluetooth?
Is your R7 the 571 or 571G?

Superonix, I am connected to 2.4ghz. By the way, I forgot to metion that I changed the wifi adapter properties, the Band Prefence to Prefer 802.11a and the BandwiidhCapability to 11a/b/g:20/40Mhz

Smurk, I have the Aspire R7-571

rc4deleon - that's good news. Perhaps the R7s now in stores have this issue resolved. I wonder if you have the same part number - although I'm not even sure how to dig that up.
Quick question though - I personally have found the 2.4Ghz problem is limited only to crowded wifi spaces (so it's possible 5Ghz is also screwed up, it's just never crowded). For example, coffee shops, Amtrak, places where the router is being beaten up pretty badly, and the frequency is chaos. That's when my R7's 2.4Ghz connection struggles to connect and struggles to maintain any kind of bandwidth. When the channel is clean (which is a rarity in any city on 2.4Ghz), the problem clears up.
Have you checked on how crowded your 2.4Ghz channel is?

Smurk, my router is from Comacast (modem/router), my internal wifi is broadcom 802.11n

b9chris, actually I did not check how crowded my area is. Also there is an acer program that will detect your system information (acer system information). I am at work right now and we have a dedicated ATT Broadband Line in here, comparing the speed of R7 to Lenovo Carbon X1 connecting on the same line, they are basically almost the same speed. There are a lot of interference inside here in our computer room.
