Laptop came w AC adapter -output : 19V - 3.42A. Will an adapter with 19V - 4.74A do harm?

I got a replacement AC adapter from someone, and I wonder if this amount of variance from original output - 4.74A vs 3.42A-would harm my computer. I suspect that it would be harmful, but I would like an answer from someone who knows for certain.
