Is a bootable iso the same thing/similar as "what the acer eRecovery Management' tries to create ?

[ Editado ]

Hi,

i am unable to create a backup using the  acer eRecovery Management.

(see thread http://community.acer.com/t5/Notebooks-Netbooks/HL-DT-ST-DVDRAM-GT32N-SATA-CdRom-Device-Optical-driv...  )

I have been unable to resolve the above, and have given up, opting for a work around.

I need a little feedback/help with a work around.

I am trying to use a work around solution to create a system backup, and need something clarified.

If i create a bootable iso image on cd's, using burnaware, is this going to work as a system recovery method ?

i understand that i won't get a factory restore but a copy of my harddrive ( i am fine with a copy), but will i be able to restore my system should it crash by using a bootable iso image burnt with burnaware.

I am not a computer genious, so any tips/and or pitfalls links would be appreciated.

Re: Is a bootable iso the same thing/similar as "what the acer eRecovery Management' tries to c

short answer is No.  Recovery manager makes the original discs to make the system like factory.

if you use a different software it doesnt access the correct files and only makes a copy of current system, which is not the same

if you cant make recovery media, can go to Acer Store or contact support to get recovery media sent to you

or use ALT+F10 method to restore system, then try creating with recovery tool then
