How do I run a diagnostic on my laptop Acer Aspire 6530?

The adapter gets hot so I unplug it. While watching Netflix, sync goes out of wack and streaming gets interrupted. As soon as I plug it in, it streams fine but sync is still off. Battery or adapter? I want to run a full diagnostic. How do I do so?

sync issue on Netflix would be Netflix stream issue, not acer notebook problem
