I bought an Aspire TimelineX 4830 and the only sound I get is coming from the two speakers located beside the trackpad (inside the computer). How do I get sound to come from the big Dolby Home Theatre speaker across the top? I have Dolby enabled because when I go into Control Panel-Sound I have the options to set the EQ and all that. thanks!

I am having the same issue. I am continually prompted whenever restarting my computer to update the driver but no driver updates I perform appear to solve the problem.

The TimelineX only has 2 speakers near the front of the unit. There is not a speaker located accross the top of the unit.

Whoa, so you're telling me that that big panel that stretches the width of the laptop and says Dolby Home Theater on it, (professionally tuned) is just decoration?! It even has a grill like a speaker.
If so, that's some of the most sneaky salesmanship I've ever seen. I would not have bought this if not for that feature. The salesperson pointed to it and told me how good the speakers were. Acer is only encouraging that misconception. It even talks about a Dolby speaker and two internal speakers in the user manual. Trust, hah.
I'm going to return this and give it the worst reviews imaginable.
