Hi, just wondering if anybody has been successful connecting their laptop to a TV with a HDMI cable at all? My mate came over with his laptop last night to try and figure it out for me but even though his laptop worked, mine still won't for some reason. All I am getting from the TV is a blue screen, unless I power up the laptop from scratch with the cable plugged in and I get a black screen on the TV up until the password login screen before it turns blue again?

I have an Acer Aspire 5810TZG with ATI Radeon HD 4330 graphics card which I have installed drivers for and I am trying to connect with a Tevion TV. There's no issues with the laptop, cable or TV itself and yes I am on the right channel (I know there will be someone who asks).

It's really annoying and is probably a really easy fix. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

what is resolution set on notebook screen?

1366x768 is my laptop resolution and I know I have to change it to 1280x720 for the tv when it eventually works

change it before as now so that it works instead of attempting with wrong resolution

The resolution shouldn't be a problem though it's getting the picture to work on the TV in the first place. My mate tried it with HDMI and the picture came up straight away and mine does when connecting with VGA just not HDMI for some reason.
