Computer Shuts Off Without Warning

I'm using an Acer Aspire One D250 series, running Windows 8. Since recently my computer keeps shutting off at start up. I updated the BIOS, but that still didn't fix the issue. I have to manually reboot for about 5 mins before it actually comes up. When it does come up it works fine and will stay on for hours or until I decide to shutdown. It's weird too cos I'll restart from inside windows and it will boot normally, just not when I shutdown.

Any help?

Reload the system to factory defaults to eliminate any software that may be causing your issue.

Thanks for your response, unfortunately my netbook didn't come with Windows 8 so the Acer recovery option isn't included in the metro search. Is there any other method I could try? I've done a complete reset on the drive that windows is on but I didn't format, would that be a problem as well?

Follow the directions for the operating system that shipped on the system.
