In view of the end of support to WINDOWS XP in 2014, is there anyway that this netbook can be upgraded to support windows 7?
It seems so wasteful to have this unit go to the dump, when my wife uses it regularly to watch netflix, do banking etc
Being on a budget in these difficult times and after having spent 500.00 on this unit when it came out...
I am and advanced computer techy and please give me guidelines if this is possible....THANKS SO MUCH

Google is your friend. Try this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0imUP6Zquc It appears you may be limited in the amount of ram you can add. Windows7 will run fine on 2gb.
Just because XP won't be supported anymore doesn't mean you can't continue to run it and the programs you're using. I relied entirely on Win98 until 2011...way way way past the time MS stopped supporting it. You can do the same with XP when the time comes.

Thank You very much for your post.
Appreciate the link. I have seen that video when I did my search before writing the post.
Still it shows what the inside of this thing looks like.
I just couldn't find a detailed walk thru of doing the upgrade.
I thought I had seen someone put 2 gb ram into this unit but in this particular video the guy said it would only accept 1.5gb because it has 512mb built into the motherboard.
I have never opened and worked on a notebook before-only desktops...so when I saw in some of the videos that the connectors for the screen were taped on I guess that sealed the deal..to wait to attempt that in case it goes wrong....
But Attempt I will....
