Acer Aspire A7600U-UR308 27-Inch All-in-One Desktop

So we have a refurbished Aspire (referenced above) that we got from an eMachines/ Gateway/ Acer settlement. We received it late July but just got around to using it recently. The product clearly shows 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output on the back but I can not find any way to toggle to the HDMI input. I've seen people successfully use the HDMI in from gaming consoles, etc - basically using this machine as a monitor but I can't figure out how to access that input.

There is a button behind the glass on the bottom left but it's seems to be like glued over and is white.

This is basically the worst condition refurb I have ever seen and the machine was sent direct. The black adhesive on the edge of the screen is coming off. The non-skid rubber is already pulling off. The silver trim on the top was received bent and the sticker on the front is already come off.

Anyways, did the company essentially take away the HDMI functionality of the refurb? If so, this was definitely not disclosed.

The 5,400 rpm drive really feels slow. I like the concept of this machine a lot but the execution of what we received is bad.

Disappointed in Silicon Valley...

First, I would contact Secondipity about the condition of the system that you received.  I would also find that unacceptable.  Refurbished systems should look almost like new systems.

Please review what I've posted in this thread on changing the inputs:

    Hi, Tommy

Thanks for responding so fast. We didn't get it from Secondipity that I know of. Originally it was supposed to be with them but it was a different site. It shipped from eMachines Redeem

As far as the HDMI input. I definitely can't find any button that is remotely pushable. As I stated there is one at the bottom left of the unit behind the glass but for some reason it seems like it's been glued shut with some kind of white stuff.

    Thank you.

When you first go to the http://www.emachinesredeem.com/ site, there is a window that opens with the following information (that I just copied and pasted here):

The items you select are covered by a standard limited warranty, the details of which may be found at http://www.secondipity.com/info/Warranty.

So you may wish to check with that link to see what is/not covered.

You should be able to see the buttons on the right side of the unit, as referenced in the pictures here.  Label 6 is the onscreen display (OSD) button set.  The menu should appear on the screen in the right bottom corner and then you can use the buttons to navigate the menu.

Please note that OSD "buttons" do not necessarily depress like a push-button, but may be touch sensitive "buttons".

    Hi, Tommy

I don't see any buttons remotely like that on the sides of the 7600u.

I plugged it into HDMI2 and I actually have signal now. But no way to toggle it back to the 7600u from my tower unless I unplug the HDMI.

The fact the I can't wake the 7600u is a deal breaker for me but I can just use this as a monitor with my tower for now and forgo the touch capabilities until I hear back from Secondipity.

    Thanks!

actually, I stand corrected. I don't understand what is going on.

It was working but I left for a couple hours and tried to awake the giant and now nothing is being shown - again
