I have an Acer Aspire 5741-7840. I have installed Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.10, but it doesn't metter.
Even in memory test mode, in ubuntu or Windows 8.. My pc is shutting down ( whithout any message) after 5 or 6 minutes after boot.

This started after i tried to upgrade my RAM, with no succes, because clock divergences, my new memory was a DDR-3 1333 SDRAM, but the PC supports only DDR3 1066. After this disappointment i put the original memories beck in their place, but, for my surpise, the pc started to shut down without any advice...

Can anyone help me? Does exist any kind of HARD RESET that i can try to do before i make a repair request? ( That costs one quarter the price i payed :/ )

    hi...

You may try performing a BIOS reset.

You need to tap the F2 key as soon as you restart the computer since windows 8 loads too fast.
After entering BIOS, press the F9 key and then select "Yes" to load default and save the configuration.
Then press the F10 key and select "Yes" to save the changes in BIOS.
    The computer would restart automatically.
