Aspire 5516 Vista Recovery

I recently purchased recovery discs for an Acer Aspire 5516 running Vista. I also had a hard drive failure and was hoping to use this to reformat the laptop to factory default. I was sent 2 discs from Acer labelled "Recovery Disc" 1 and 2. The instructions included say I should insert a disc labeled "System Disc" but I did not receive such a disc. I have tried using disc 1 of the Recovery Discs. Should I have a "System DIsc" too?

Secondly, the DVD drive doesn't ever bring anything up on boot. I have tried adjusting the boot order in BIOS and using F12 to boot straight from the DVD drive, but simply cannot get it to work. Any suggestions to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I have also tried the ALT-F10 option, but nothing ever happens there.

Yes, if it is referencing a System Disc, you should have the disc.  Please contact the Acer branch where you purchased the recovery media set with the issue.

ALT + F10 will not work on a new drive, as the recovery partition is only on the original hard drive.
