Acer aspire 5336 wifi connectivity problems

I have an Acer aspire 5336 mod no. Pew72

We have a wifi connection issue. From start up the wifi connects with no problem as it always has to our home network. All our other devices in the home work fine on our wifi network.
With the acer however we now have an odd issue. From start up the laptop connects fine to the wifi network however after an unspecified time between 2 mins and no more than 15 mins the wifi disconnects for no apparent reason.
All the regular trouble shooting stuff has been tried. Sometimes the troubleshoot appears to fix the program (for a bit), other times it cannot.
The reoccurring message being "problem with wireless adapter or access point".
I have had this laptop since January 2012, and never had any issues before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Lara

    What operating system?

What is the current driver installed for the WiFi adapter?

Have you attempted to update the driver from the Acer drivers page?

May I please add my contribution in addition to the one alredy given.

Check within the device manager the properties of your WIFI device.

There you find something like "Energy control". (Sorry, I do not know the precise english word.)

But anyway, there is an entry (again translated from german) "Computer may turn off the device to save energy".

    Please deactivate that.

    Does that help?
