Acer 5755G failing to operate.

Bought an Acer 5755G 8Gb, 500GB disk, in Oct 2011 for my sister and it seems to have failed.

Probkem is as follows.

Press the on button, dvd drive clicks, fan comes on momentarily, then fan stops, dvd clicks, then on, then off, and it switches off. Nothing at all on the display. No bios shows.

Connected an external display and nothing shows. Removed the drive and connected to other pc, no reports of smart error's or DST short etc.

It's been barely used, mostly for Facebook. My sister had dogs (non shedding) and a cat, and she says the laptop is sometimes left on the floor.

It feels to me like it's overheating and auto shut off.
