I think you might have to make a "Recovery Drive" as in USB drive.

I don't know if that will work for me to try and get an installation disk/drive to use for making a virtual machine to run Windows 8 within a window within Linux Ubuntu, but I think it will work for a regular recovery drive.

In Win8 move your cursor into the upper right corner of the screen.

Click in the magnifying glass cursor (Search).

Click on the Settings box (2nd one down).

In the Search box type Recovery.

Then click on the option to Create a recovery drive.

After clicking Yes to authorize running the program (you probably have to have administrative privileges, it will say to insert a disk with at least 16GB of memory, warning you that anything on it will be erased.

    Good day

Agree, if you are running Windows 8, then you have to create the recovery media on a flash drive.

If you using windows 7, you have to use Acer eRecovery management that you can create the factory default image on a set of DVD's. the biggest Acer image i have seen was on 4 DVD's

Hi For win8 OS you require 16 GB flash drive to burn recovery USB.

Go to Acer recovery management and selct the option create factory default discs and connect the USB to create USB recovery flash drive.
