Dear all,

Before you send in your Laptop, please make sure that

1. Format and reinstall windows 8.1 which can do from REMOVE EVERTHING AND REINSTALL WINDOWS

2. Update 3 related drivers ( I/O, Chipset & Touchpad)

3. If you've done everything but touchpad still freezing, you send in and tell them you've done the software part, left ACER service center to do the HARDWARE part, than this will save LOTS of TIME, they can do the job easily

Regarding the HID-COMPLIANT MOUSE issue,

i also consulted technician from Acer Service Centre.

From the information i got from him,

1. Late 2014 Acer Laptop comes only with Precision touchpad which is designed by INTEL (motherboard part) due to Windows 8.1

2. No need to waste time on uninstall / install Synaptic driver because it will only update

System - Device Manager - Human Interface Devices - Synaptivcs HID Device

Message from Acer-Ryan reply.

3. Please refer my V3-371-36vz screenshot.

4. For the touchpad issue, you may email to Acer HQ, request them for same day repair, this is what i request.

5. They won't refund, or change new unit for you... this TOUCHPAD problems happen on certain model of Acer Laptop. Local Service Center can only rework/resolder the touchpad part.

Dear all...

I just came back from Acer Local Service Center which called 'Highpoints'.

I send in the V3-371 laptop yesterday (15.10.14) and i got it back just now (16.10.14)

From the technician part, he told me that something wrong with the touchpad.

They rework the touchpad board, which mean they resolder the touhpad board, and reconnect the touchpad cable.

Now the problem solve, no more freezing issue.

in fact, Acer should start investigate this issue.

As you can see, most of us are suffer from Touchpad Freezing, we're from various Country, like French, Malaysia, Netherlands Hong Kong, Taiwan and many more.

Can ACER do something besides send to local service team ??? This is ridiculous because this is not a End User Problem. What we got is a failure unit, i think WHOLE BATCH OF ACER V3-371 series suffer from this problem.

We bought failure item, and we got nothing, and we have to send back .... is this what ACER trying to give us ???

I can say this is Design Failure...

Dear Acer Cory, you're the one from ACER, can you help us ???

At least let ACER know, this model has suffer from this problem !!!

This is what we got in our computer.

Normally under

Mice and other pointing devices

- it will show synaptic touchpad or elantech driver (related)

but for this Acer V3-371, it shows

-HID-compliant mouse

Although we install driver provided by Acer, but nothing changed.

Dear Acer Cory,

We have done what we could on this stage. Nothing can help us !

On the software side,

i've reformat and install new driver, and even other compatible driver .... results is same !

On the hardware side,

i can't open the chasis as the warranty will void.

Anyone can help ???

i'm sure that this is hardware failure.

if not, how come so many people report in ??

1. Reinstall Windows + Format Drive C

2. Update BIOS 1.11

3. Uninstall Device Manager - Mice and other pointing devices - HID-compliant mouse (uninstall it)

4. Use keyboard and install TouchPad_Synaptics_18.1.22.2 which released by Acer on 16.9.14

5. Teng Teng Teng Teng .... mouse still freezing ...hang sometimes

Problems on touchpad also...

freezing and not sensitive ...sometime it doesn't move and jerking ...

Tried few solution

1) Reset , format and reinstall windows - Touchpad freezing also !

2) Update BIOS - Touchpad freezing also !

3) Install Synaptics drive which has been released on 16.9.14 - Touchpad freezing also !

4) Applied screen protector on touchpad - Touchpad freezing also !

5) use external mouse - no problem at all !!

i call authorize Acer service center in Malaysia - Highpoints

They told me that something wrong with the touchpad .. need to sent in.

They've received the Report and Service Solution from HQ.. which means this is Hardware Defeat !!

Acer should admit it and recall this batch of V3-371 ... why they never do this ! felt disappointed!

Currently i'm using .221 network and .220 bluetooth driver.

So far .221 show no more 'limited' connection while both bluetooth keyboard and mouse will causing inferences while using both together (connection with internet is slow while using both bluetooth keyboard and mouse)!!

bro, try to uninstall ur wifi driver... u need to uninstall the drivers several times as ur computer will try to install the previous drivees automatically.

once u finished uninstall, install the latest driver (3rd march ) driver from acer
