What do you mean by reflash? Are you trying to access the BIOS menu? Well I know you can access when the computer is booting up for a split second before the logo pops up by hitting F12 if that isn't what you were after, maybe this is http://www.compu-help.us/BIOS_access.htm

If your computer has the ability to reinstall the operating system you could try that, or you may in fact have some bad hardware, probably your motherboard, in which case you can try and bake it in the oven (detailed directions online), purchase a new one or get the problem diagnosed by a computer tech (which is usually ridiculously expensive). If those don't sound too appealing I suggest externally backing up all your files next time you finally get to Windows, because who knows when it will be for the last time?

Re: why acer backup manager try to connect internet?

Acer backup manager isn't a virus, it is software bundled with your Acer computer. This software enables you to backup important documents to either another disc drive or an external storage method. This program is defaulted to run on start up meaning that if starts when your computer is turned on, like many other programs such as adobe reader and anti virus programs. You don't want to uninstall this as you may use it in the future. It is probably attempting to connect to the internet to obtain updates or patches. You can choose to have the backup manager only start when you run the program manually, by typing msconfig into the start menu search bar, then going to the third tab in the window that pops up that says "start up" that is a list of all the things that run as soon as you boot up. Do not turn a bunch of things off without first using a search engine to determine whether they are important or not. You can also just choose to hide the tray icon, or perhaps even right click the backup manager icon and see if there are any settings you can change like automatically connect to the internet, or open on start up.

Perhaps disabling or even uninstalling some unnecessary start up programs will alleviate this problem. This can be done by typing "msconfig" (without quotations) into the start menu search bar and selecting the menu item that appears. The system configuration window that pops up has a tab labeled start up, select that and see how many things fire up right when you turn on your computer. Verify through a search engine whether or not you need it to run on startup. This can be done by simply typing something like "do I need amazon tasktray application to run on start up?" and the results should tell you yes or no. You can also run a disk defrag and clean up as well as utilizing the tools in the control panel under System and Security such as find and fix problems.

You need to update the software or driver for your alertegps by going to http://www.alertegps.com.au/gps_details.asp?carac=4&prod=G520 under the orange tab is one called downloads, mouse over that and select update software. You can also attempt to fix the thing via your start menu search bar by typing in drivers and selecting device manager or driver update. Double click the hardware from the list and then select the driver tab in the new window that opens up. Select update driver and see if that worked. It is not the computer or the operating system's responsibility to keep these things compatible but that of the manufacturer.

Since the Aspire One is Acer's Netbook series there is no CD drive on any of the models in this line. A netbook, unlike a laptop or notebook, is generally under 3 pounds, has a 12" or smaller monitor and a low power processor suited for web browsing but not large programs or games. Netbooks are significantly cheaper due to this fact, but in all reality they could not include a CD drive and remain a netbook as the addition would add too much weight and alter the size specifications, which is truly what defines a netbook.

I don't think there is an exchange program for used computer products unless you have a warranty and your computer needs repaired or replaced. You can purchase refurbished ones on ebay through the official Acer Store http://stores.ebay.com/Acer or you can post your own ad on an auction or classifieds site such as craigslist and see if anyone is willing to trade with you.

You need to update your Java version because v. 6 stopped being updated as of 3/1/13 I believe. The Java Virtual Machine (VM) is included with the free software package found at www.java.com . Java is a programming language used by many developers and is required to run some programs such as games.
