never mind about this. i connected an ethernet cable to modem, and speeds were exacrly what they should have been. so, i think it's a problem with the modem. not the computer.

THIS IS A NEW~ISH (1yr) LAPTOP FROM GATEWAY. GATEWAY NE56R

My wireless speeds are not up to par. The GATEWAY website sends me to ACER to download a network driver from their site.

ACER website DOES NOT RECOGNIZE or SUPPORT GATEWAY COMPUTERS!!

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! HOW IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT GATEWAY WOULD NO LONGER HAVE ANY TYPE OF SUPPORT?? I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT THIS IF I HAD KNOWN.

if anyone can help me, please reply?
