Thanks IronFly,

Updated bios but bo option for AHCI. Must be a budget system. At least a memory upgrade will help usability.

Fozzie

Enabling AHCI Mode in Veriton M265

This may be a fairly easy question to answer but I cannot find any details in the manual.

I am repairing a Very Very slow Veriton M265 for a customer. The main problem is only 1Gb of installed memory for Windows 7 32bit and onboard graphics!!! However I also noticed the internal SATA hard drive is listed in Device manager as ATA UDMA 5 Mode!!

When I look at the options in the bios I can only find Compatbility or Enhanced Modes for the SATA controller and no apparent way to change to AHCI mode. I have checked the registry in Windows 7 and AHCI is NOT enabled.

Can anyone tell me what Enhanced mode is and can the bios (or later versions vA0 installed but A3 available) be changed to AHCI?
