Well, I don't get it why laptop manufacturers puts dd3 gpu in 2014. Thats second laptop with it and as you said, the cost with GDDR5 isn't that much higher. Good for me, I also have kinda nice desktop PC so I use this Acer only for World of Warcaft when I'am not at home. And it's enought I think. I just don't like Optimus very much cos I have to run it manualy with choosing GPU, if I don't I've got huge fps lag spikes. And seting GTX 850M as default doesn't help.

Well, that awesome!

I just bought top i5 laptop by Acer brand and things are...well I cannot find polite words. When I tried to solve this problem I've already solved, I use many softs. such as hwinfo64, aida, gpuz and few more. One of those but I can't remember which one showed me that there is 745m gpu. I thought that is come kind of con by Acer on its customers. I also found some informations that ours 850Ms which we have in our laptops are the kepler architecture.

Question is, will we need to do those files modifications everytime nvidia will realease new drivers? I'm also thinking to throw away that OEM OS with infinite nonsense rubbish apps from Acer a make smooth empty new instalation of Win 8.1.

Well, I agree and thank you for explanation. But, I was curious and I benched my laptop with Unigine Heaven on Extreme preset. I got 397 pts. with old oem Acer drivers. Then I got 426 pts. with 340.52 actual drivers. Its not much but it counts.

Well, before I found this topic, I made a phonecall to Acer customer service. Guy told me, that I should not apply any such drivers which arent from Acer official. He told me, that those drivers can unlock more performance and my laptop's construction isn't made for that so it will overheat.

Well, make's sense but It's weird. It will took few month and they will not give crap about any futher drivers because this product will be "old" and not avalible for buy. I kinda hate notebook's companies for this but I guess that business is just business.

I solved the part which installer says the it couldn't found compatible hardware. During the instalation, it fails with no error meesagges but its canceled that PhysX, GeForce Exp and driver 340.52 wasn't installed.

This is what appears in my HW ID i tried it with 1st and 2nd lines, whole thing in this topic. Nothing work.

I also changed all 222CA to 22CB but nothing works.
