Aspire V5 573P atheros wifi troubleshooting request

Hello all,

I recently purchases an Aspire V5 573P 9899 and can connect via ethernet cable but not wifi. I have read hundreds of posts in threads regarding this issue. Some owners have had success others not. Therefore, I am hesitant to go mucking around with a unit that I am unfamiliar with, and at the advice of individuals from the general public because of fear of aggrevating the situation. No offense to any of you who have provided suggestions, but I would be more confident in an answer from a technical representative employed by Acer who knows these machines inside and out, blindfolded.

So I am posting this suggestion for a fix in everyones' interest at building bridges over this problem:

Is it possible that a helpline or chatline of some kind could be established so that individual assistance could be provided by Acer to the considerable number of indviduals whose machines are being effected by this problem? Would such an approach not bolster community confidence and accelerate the realization of officially assisted solutions? Ultimately in turn, it seems that a substantial database could be quickly established containing definite answers and solutions that came from the people most familiar with the technology. And, it would be most effecient and beneficial to all parties considered in the long run.

I have attempted many of the software suggestions and tips, but nothing has worked for me. I really love all other aspects of the machine, but no wifi just kills the appeal. Acer would be my absolute go to computer manufacturer if the wifi issue didn't exist or Acer would provide focused support for this issue! Hands down.

I hope nothing aforementioned violated the posting rules, truly I do. No blame just better cooperation accross the board really.

Nice try but this is not a solution that is reasonable for the average consumer. AND the various solutions only work selectively. I have tried every on I could find for my refurbished Aspire and NADA.

"Acer will not formally provide technical support on the Acer Community. Remember this is a peer to peer Community. However Acer will, at its discretion, work to ensure unanswered posts to the forums receive a reply. Any and all information provided by Acer employees is governed by the Acer Legal Notices referenced above."

--Acer ULA

"Acer has always believed in “Serve with honor and work with pride.” We provide clients with professional service and satisfy customer demands through innovation and steadfast intent. In the end, we hope that customers are proud of their Acer products."

Upstanding inividuals and companies "walk their talk", on this issue that has effected thousands of owners of acer laptops, Acer has failed in this area. The solution should be owned up to and not left up to the general non-tech savvy users to trouble shoot and SOLVE this problem.

The solution is to replace the wifi adapter with one that does not conflict with the firmware/acer architecture, period. And, Acer knows this. I provided a solution in this post, though it may not be financially advantageous to Acer it is the true solve for the thousands of us suffering Acers refusal to assist customers with a problem that came inherent with the units they built.
