So after many hours of testing...I have found a solution.

In fact, it does turn out to be a router setting for me.

I have a Cisco DPC3825 and I had to uncheck IP FLOOD DETECTION in the security tab.

Simple as that. My router log said that the Chromebook was sending LAN UDP Flood packets.

I apologize to ACER Tech Support.

It might be usefull to add a FAQ to this effect.

Maybe its me, but am I crazy to think that it is wrong for ACER to make me pay for shipping for a return or even to have my unit repaired? You claim that it is not a hardware issue, but yet tech support says they will fix it and send it back to me. Fix what? No one knows what the issue is? Why should I pay to have it returned when no one can even answer what the probllem is?

The rouer is provided by my ISP and ALL other devices work fine with it so trying another router to make the Chromebook work is obviosuly not going to happen. Other major retailers have no issue covering the shipping cost of a defective product, but apparently not Acer. Can't say I didnt't try, but Samsung and HP chromebooks are looking good right now.

so i contacted support via chat. I explained i tried everthing i was told, still no luck. I wanted to send the unit in for repair, but they wanted me to pay for shipping. I was shocked. Wanting me to pay for shipping for a defective unit is crazy. They would rather i return the unit for refund than pay shipping. So be it.

I have just purchased the C720P (1 week ago) and I also have this wifi connection issue. I have tried changing DNS but issue still persists. Perhaps if we all created tickets with Acer, they would take this more seriously.
