Alternative operating systems for my Aspire V3-571 to remove W8

Please can somone help just purchased the Aspire v3-571 with windows 8 installed

I hate it and wish to get rid of W8.

Can i run this laptop on XP OR Ubuntu

Do i need to change the bios to enable the instal of Ubuntu

Please can someone provide a solution
