Hello,

I downloaded the avast! app from Google Play Store, disinstalled it after the said messages popped up. Woudn't know about any untrusted or cracked apps on the phone - Google News & Weather ? Google Play has a app called "Ol File Manager" which too seems to be nice for the purpose, thanks for tipps.

Hello out there,

here some question to the frequent user.

1) do you consider avast! a recommendable antivirus app ?

I get a popup message from it, saying that malware is found in the apps:

"News&Weather" v3.0.6978 and Google Play Store are said to contain Trojans. Further, under avast! malware info, it lists Chrome and Google-Search as affected by 'unwanted programs' PUP.

Wouldn't that more likely indicate that avast! is mistaken and better be disinstalled ? As it isn't part of the preinstalled apps anyway.

Suggestion of another, probably more reliable, app appreciated.

2) how comes that my camera gets activated - every other time i pull the smarty out of my jeans front pocket- probably pressing unintentionally power on/off and/or volume button:

just a thought - I am aware that with the cam app already active - the volume button can be (un/intentionally) be pressed to take a picture. But then, the cam app shouldn't get activated unintentionally in the first place, while extracting the phone from the pocket, right?

Can there be done something to resolve the nuisance - disable something to avoid this behaviour?

-3) I'd like to set a shortcut (Windows desktop terminology) in form of a app like icon on the homescreen. To be able to go right to a specific directory, file or webpage.

Can we, how to?

Recommendations, experiences welcome!

Hello,

I noticed (loading my music files from PC to Acer Liquid via the USB-cable) that the batterie charges as soon as the USB-cable is connected. Is this a secure, i.e. intended use ? Manual doesn't seem to have a opinion about this.

Thanks.

Hallo Leute,

Danke.

P.S.

I am having the phone in standby since 9 days and it states 43% battery. That looks similar to specs. With 'standby' i mean standby, not touching the phone: no phone calls, no surfing & WLAN off, no display light use - probably the biggest energy drag. If one switched off the SIM card too, duration might exceed specs - but what 'standby' would that be.. ;-)

So the 'only problem' is when you use the phone. Seems that medium usage (as described originally) yields a 1-2 day battery resistance - as with comparable state-of-the-art phones. So that's that. Support told me that there isn't a double capacity battery. Suggestion was to have a 2nd battery ready to swap, if on the road w/o current source.

Besides that - great piece of technology&Science.

seems that the spec values are obtained under unreal usage conditions. What seems to be true not only for the otherwise very nice ACER Liquid.

Suggestion ACER is: PLEASE - give us a battery w twice the capacity of the actual one !!

Hello,

my battery discharges too fast, it lasts about 1-2 days.

Even w phonecard switched off (i.e. no calls made or received too) and phone switched off at night.

Use is about 1-3h of WLAN based Web-Surfing (otherwise WLAN connection switched off). Eventually playing some pieces of music ( w and w/o headphones) from MicroSD, for an hour. Display illumination and the rest, i believe, have default settings (wouldn't swear - need to get used to the tiny icons & stuff - medium size male finger size).

Liquid E2 duo specs tell me that standby should last 450h, conversation 9h. So I'd have expected a fully charged battery to hold several days, at least under the moderate use described above.

Does this sound normal or is that battery faulty ?

Thanks for opinions.
