Thank to all those who offered suggestions to enable me to access web pages again. Eventually, I followed the Acer full recovery procedure to restore the pc to factory settings. All is now ok.

IPconfig gave IPv4 address as 192.168.1.68. Yes, I have both wireless and wired connections but the problem persists with either.

Padgett: Since I've been trying all the suggestions I've been given, IPv4 has sometimes been shown as "Internet Access " and sometimes as "No internet Access". Currently it is showing the latter. Also I can use my wife's netbook browsing the web via the same router without any problems which makes me think the problem lies in the laptop?

Thank you both. I've checked the drivers and all seem to be ok. I should have added that I have another notebook and using that I can connect to the internet without any trouble.

The 'status' of my BThub3 shows IPv4 Connectivity Internet and IPv6 Connectivity No Internet Access but I still cannot open any web pages.

Last night I was using the Internet but this morning I had no internet access. Since then my BThub3 is now showing that I have internet access - "IPv4 connectivity- Internet/ IPv6 - No Internet Access" but I still cannot open any web pages Error message "This page can't be displayed".

I have an Acer Aspire E1-531 running Win7 with a BThub3 router; BT Broadband Infinity Option1.

Anyone - how do I get my internet access back? Any replies gratefully received.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried connecting HDMI to TV withTV off and then switchinng onn - it worked. Thanks also for the tip about the volume control

Thanks for the reply. I have connected the laptop to the TV which has its own speaskers. The last time I managed to get this to work, when I went into Control Panel, Hardware & Sound, Sound, Manage Audio Devices, the Playback tab showed both the Laptop speakers and the TV. Having disabled the laptop speakers and made the TV default, the sound from what was playing on the laptop came through the TV speakers. This time the TV didn't appear on the Sound tab at all. I've tried different sequences of the procedure but nothing works. Any other ideas for me? All gratefully received.

I have connected my Acer Aspire E1-531 laptop to my Sony Bravia TV with a HDMI cable and can see the laptop screen on the TV but I cannot get sound. I managed this once but cannot repeat it. The first time I found that the TV appeared on the Sound Playback tab together with the laptop's speakers but I cannot reproduce this. Can anyone help me?

When I try printing a photo on photo paper, I get a 'Paper out' message. If I then press 'Print' on the printer screen, the paper is taken through the printer but does not print. Can anyone advise me of a solution to this problem?

Thanks for that, but as I have a new Epson printer,would deleting 'Monitor Ink Alerts' affect the new printer?

Thanks for your reply. However, there is no HP printer in the Start menu and there was no indication in the registry of any reference to the 'missing' file. Is it not more likely that some programme which runs on start-up needs amending to remove any reference to this file? If so, what programme?

I recently uninstalled HP printer and ever since on starting up my Acer notebook I get a panel headed "RunDLL" saying ' There was a problem starting C:/program files/HP/ HPDeskjet 3070 B611 series/bin/HP staus BL.dll'. How do I remove this error message?
