Hi, this laptop is only 2 years old. and yet it has dead pixel. this is really poor from Acer. I would like a screen replacement. The dead pixel is on the left edge, right below middle. it really stands out on bright colors. please do this for me without a cost. I am not under warranty, but I feel this needs to be done.

The laptop is Acer Timeline M5 481 TG

Calibrate Battery in WIndows 8.1

Looks my battery is not Calibrated because after 6% it tends to last 1 hour.. which is kind of weird. How would I Calibrate the batter in WIndows 8.1?

DVD drive failing in WIndows 8/8.1

Hello there, I tried burning ISOs but its failing constantly in Windows 8 or 8.1 but works fine on Windows 7. Is there a driver I need to install? The reason was 13:51:43 Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Power Calibration Area Is Full

This happened on IMG burn, but still fails on other programs as well, like PowerISO etc.

This is an easy fix if it works for you. Check for loose screws at the bottom and tighen it. This seems to work for all Acer Ultra Thin notebooks. Tested on M5 481-tG

TouchPad 3 finger flick (Browsers)

Hi, I have a question about the flicks. The flicks support major browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and IE. But how come it doesn't support all the browsers? It's very inconvineint to be using those browsers.I prefer using browsers like SRware Iron, Comodo, Opera. which the flicks are not supported in. Is there anyway I can get it to work on them?

By Flicks I mean (Going forward, and backword with a three finger swipe on trackpad.) Thanks.

M5 Dead Pixel on left

So, how do I fix a dead pixel which is just bright, and is highly noticable on light background. It's not a certain color, but looks like its just a bright pixel. Hard to describe. any way to fix it without replacing screen?

Step 1 : - Get a suitable screwdriver that would fit the bottom screws.

Step 2: - Tighten very singles screws!

This happenes becuase the screws as ground base.. It fixed it for me, now no more shut downs, let me know your feedback on this.

Push down the screws near the battery pack, this will help. It worked for me when it happened once.

Is there any driver I left out on WIndows 8.1 that might be causing this to happen? I cant even install IRST. I have ME installed. Also, does the BIOS update ruin this?

That is one thing you don't want to do to an ultrabook. Because you may have damaged it by touching the places you shouldn't with caution. You may have also voided the warranty. The only thing you can do now is try again, or contact a local shop to help you out. Because when you have your warranty voided, Acer will charge you a lot for it.
