Re: after installation VGA_Intel_8.15.10.2712_W7x86W7x64_A in window 7 getting blue screen

I don't really know too much about blue screens but for anyone who does and could help, you should post some information and error codes which appear. This could help decide if it really is the update which caused it, which it most likely is.

I know there is a way which should fix this problem which is to use the "Last Known Good Configuration" which is on the f8 boot menu. I am on windows 8 so I cannot be certain where it is but if you keep pressing f8 while your computer is turning on you may find that option somewhere. After a quick search it says it is under the "Advanced Boot Option".

Sorry if it's not much help but it's the best I can do from memory.

Reply here as for some reason I cannot edit the first post.

I decided that I was going to send my laptop off for repairs as my up arrow was starting to act dodgey which meant I could hardly play a game at all. I thought as a last attempt I would completely reset my computer using windows 8 built-in restore and it worked. I can now use the keyboard and click simultaneously. Although the up arrow is still a bit dodgey I am pleased. I thought I would post this incase anyone else had experienced this so that they could try, and doing so know that it worked for someone else, if you have experienced it and this did not work then good luck finding a fix.

Update - I have narrowed it down more, the problem is the Windows 8.1 preview. (Which is in beta so problems are expected.) If you are considering updating to windows 8.1 from windows 8 with this model of laptop I would suggest highly against it.

Hello, if you could add which graphics card your laptop has and if it is 32 or 64 bit I may be able to help some more if needed, after what is next.

You could try using downloading the latest drivers for Windows 7 (X86/X64?) from the website without any problems as it should be compatible (Taking a guess and saying your graphics card is 5400 series which is listed as compatible.)

x32 bit

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-32.aspx

AMD Mobility Radeon™ Driver Verification Tool - 32bit Direct link

x64 bit

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx

AMD Mobility Radeon™ Driver Verification Tool - 64bit Direct link

These just check if it is compatible and it may give you a message telling you to download via manufacturers website, if so you could do some searching of the AMD website for a direct link to a download for AMD Catalyst version 13.4 or I could search for you if/when I know which of 32/64 bit your laptop is.

If you need to find out which graphics card and if your laptop is either x32 or x64 bit this should help you.

Click Start.

On the Start menu, click Run.

In the Open box, type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.

The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Keep it on the System tab.

Is will say "Operating system: Windows 7 32-bit OR 64-bit" Tell me which you have

Now click the Display tab.

On the Display tab, information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section.

Aspire V3-771g - Tap/Left click delay after pressing keys on keyboard (Certain keys only)

This is an odd problem I am having, I've had the laptop now for a month or so and I am pretty sure it has been there since I got it. The problem is pretty much the title. I cannot press letters or numbers then left click without a 1 second or so delay, I also cannot left click at all if I hold down a key without letting go, once I do the delay still happens. I can press the arrow keys keys then left click without delay fine (Right click still works where left click is delayed/disabled.) I know that the clicks are getting detected as the tray icon still highlights the touch/left button when used.

Some information that may be needed. The driver is newer than the one listed on the download section for this notebook but I had tried both and still happened. (Also tried uninstalling both and using the default Microsoft drivers but still no luck.) Keyboard came with no drivers and none listed on downloads. Also "TP Rejection" is already disabled.

Operating System: Windows 8.1 Preview 64-bit (All updates installed, still happened on Windows 8 Home Premium)

Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Acer

System Model: Aspire V3-771 (Says 771g on the box, not sure if it is supposed to add the g)

BIOS: V2.21

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz (4 CPUs)

Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8010MB RAM

Page File: 3092MB used, 6197MB available

Touchpad

Hardware Type ELAN PS/2 Port Smart-Pad

Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\i8042prt.sys (6.3.9431.0, 105.00 KB (107,520 bytes), 16/06/2013 01:35)

Keyboard

Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\kbdhid.sys (6.3.9431.0, 29.50 KB (30,208 bytes), 16/06/2013 01:35)

If you need anymore information just tell me, any help is greatly appreciated.
