I have the same card in my V3-771G and I feel ya. Out of the box I had the disconect issues. Updating the bios and wireless driver fixed this issue. But this also brings on a new set of problems if you use bluetooth and thats where I'm at. I''ve sent the laptop back a few times and nothing fixes it.

If you want to read about my issues you can find it here. http://community.acer.com/t5/Notebooks-Netbooks/Need-some-tech-savvy-people-to-help-me-with-my-problem-Bluetooth/m-p/113601

You say 2 IDEs. Are you running two HDDs? If you are you could try removing the secondary and see if that clears up a conflict. Otherwise there's not much you can do. If you have a flash drive around you can make a usb copy of the disc. http://arstechnica.com/business/2009/12/the-usb-flash-drive/

I have an V3-771G and there is n obvious defect in the wifi card. Out of the box if you use wifi and bluetooth the card crashes and the laptop bsod when trying to restart. Sent it in twice to have it replaced, first time they just reinsalled the os, second time they replaced the card and the issue is still there.

Basically the odds are slim.

If you have a valid key look for a Win7 64bit install disc on the Internet or from friends. Your product key will work for it and fix the ram issues. 32bit can not support 4gig of ram.

Do you see a grayed out Bluetooth icon in the taskbar? It would be located in the lower right hand of the screen. If it is then you would need to enable it FN+F3, assuming your not on wifi or your wifi is off . If you don't see the icon on your computer then I would assume yours does not have one and would return the laptop because specs show that it should have one.

There is a program that is starting when you start your computer that I'm guessing isn't there anymore. I have no idea what program would use a file named nirrit.dat it the Program Files (x86) folder but have you deleted anything recently or uninstalled any programs?

Probably the easiest way to fix this is by going to download.com and grab a program called Glary Utilitys It's a free program. Just download it, open gu3setup.exe, yes, I Agree, Install, Finish, and the program should start. There might be an advertisement for the pro version just click no thanks. On the 3rd tab click advanced tools and then click start-up items. Un-check everything you don't need to start when you computer starts, basically everything but your antivirus, and close the program. restart your computer and you shouldn't have the issue any more.

I'm asuming you can still use other usb devices with your laptop so I'm going to say it's phone side. Check to make sure nothing, like lint, is not inside the usb port of the phone. Other than that there is not much you can do. You can try restoring your phone and see if that fixes it.

Is this the ram that came with your computer and how long have you had it?

It sounds like one of the sticks have failed. It knows it is there but cant use it. That why you have 1.7 available. The other .3 is being used by the video card.

I would open the bottom panel of your laptop to make sure the ram is seated correctly.

I'm not sure your thech level skill but you can remove one stick and see if it still boots. You should see 2gb ram available 1.7 usable. Turn it back off and switch the sticks. If it dosen't start with just one of the sticks then theres your problem. You need to replace a stick of ram.

Not because it is out of warrenty but because they tried everything thier copy and paste answers can provide. I'm having a weird conflict when I'm using both bluetooth and the wifi at the same time.

.

Here's the history of the problem. Out of the box new mid Feb 2013 I had spuratic wifi issues where i'm "conneccted" to my wifi connection but no connection to the internet. Only my laptop had this issue with 3 computers on the network. They sugustedI update my drivers and it solved the problem. I then introduced bluetooth headphones. -_- Any type of bluetooth connection made the wifi/bt card crash. The wifi panel wouldn't show anymore, lost internet connection though still "connected," and would BSOD when I tried to restart. Contacted Acer and I sent it in. They reinstalled the os. o_o I contacted them again because issues were still pressent. They sent me a box and I mailed it back and they replaced the wifi/bt card and the keyboard for an unrelated issue. Now the current issue is every 10 seconds, only when using bt, the wifi drops for a second. Contacted Acer... they basicaly left me with this :

Bluetooth devices will reduce Wireless LAN transfer rate

Why am I experiencing reduced Wireless LAN transfer rates?

If you are experiencing reduced Wireless LAN transfer rates, please turn off all Bluetooth devices connected to your computer. This will improve your streaming and downloading experience

Pfft... my old HP handled it just fine... I think i'm just going to buy a second BT adapter, usb, so that card can just handle the wifi

Is anyone else having this issue?

What carlgt1 is saying true. You need to set the bios to legacy mode. After that you should have no problem installing Windows 7 other than trying to install driver. Acer only has Windows 8 drivers and all may not be compatable with Windows 7.
