As I said I run vmware version 7 which is an old one. Newer versions do not work. The virtual machine I use is XP based and it runs ok when I allocate 786 MB of ram to it. Depends on how you want to utilize a virtual machine in order to see if w510 is ok.

- Unbelievable autonomy over 15 hours easily (with the keyboard dock)

- Can be used as tablet and as netbook/ultrabook (so long as you don't have very thick fingers)

- Runs all windows applications you are used to

- Even runs vmware 7, and you can load a virtual machine

Other than that the graphics card is very basic. You will play the games from the store, but don't expect to run any current titles.

For this kind of usability you would have to pay almost double the money to get an 11 inch tablet with windows 8 and an i3 processor with a decent graphics card (which I do not know if you would utilize eventually).

I have it almost a month now, been away on a business trip and I have still to find something to disappoint me (at least after upgrading the graphics card drivers manually).

Would be better to say it does not support virtualization well. You really need at least 4GB of memory to be effective and not be swapping constantly since each instance needs its own space.

Crass, thank you for the idea with VMware WorkStation 7, I needed to run WinXP in this tablet due to driver for my token. I have only troubles with mouse integreation, I had to disable integration functions from this reason :-(
