Cannot remove battery? E1 572

How on Earth do I remove the battery from an Aspire E1 572? I see no release on the laptop at all and have been trying all day to find a way without luck. I have scouted through the box it came with but there's no manual only a guide on how to INSERT the battery. The battery was already inserted when I got it so that guide is useless..

Anyone with the know-how please help

find the oval thingy underneath the laptop near the battery..

there you will find a hole...

drag it towards the opposite side..

then pull the battery

I do not have the oval "thingy" mentioned and the bottom of my laptop looks nothing like the picture. There is no door. I finally took the bottom off and there is the battery but it's amazingly difficult to get to. For some reason my 572G has decided that the battery can't be charged and will only run on the AC power brick. I need to use this on battery. ANY THOUGHTS??

Battery will get charged once you connect the AC cord.

Hi, I have the exactly same issue with battery removal in this model. I do have an "oval thingy" as you mentioned but I'm still struggle removing a battery out of my laptop. Should I return to the store?

Fantastic!! I found the oval thingy; recess/hole whatever. I'd already taken out 3 screws and was frantically searching for a very small allen key!!! Ha ha ; just needed a stubby pointed pencil; pulled out battery; put back in; and voila; machine powers up 100% Thank you very much vaizaren.

Thank you , Thank you, Thank you - tried for ages to figure out how to get this battery out and had reached the point where I felt like chucking it out of the window. Brilliant advice and worked first time. Keep up the good and very helpful work.
