Well, look at this, they still sell the same notebook at their website...

http://www.misco.nl/product/300100114/Acer-Aspire-E1-510-28202G32Dnkk-Notebook-Intel-Celeron-N2820-2-17GHz-15-6-inch-HD-2GB-320GB-HD-Graphics-Windows-8-1-64-bit?selectedTabIndex=2&tabBarViewName=ProductTechnicalSpecifications&page=1&#tabs

Be clear, I do not wish to discredit Misco here. If you find I should take this matter to them

I will, but still it is an Acer notebook with 2 Gb RAM which means Acer delivers this to Misco as such..

I recently bought an Acer Aspire E1 for a customer of mine. She called me the day before

that her new notebook was even slower than her old pc (12 years - XP) !! I went to her and

found this notebook only has 2 Gb of memory installed. To my professional opinion that is way

to little to have a decent working device. At least 4 Gb should be installed but best is 8 Gb.

Windows 8.1 is on this notebook. But also if Windows 7 woud be the system 8 Gb should be

minimum. I see that more brands place standard minimum memory, but in my view they do not

deliver a fine working device and you can't say they have tp buy more if they need it. It should

be standard 4-8 Gb. How do others feel about this and what does Acer think when placing only

2 Gb ? I have a customer now who has a good reason not to be satisfied with her notebook !

I also want to know how to properly address this issue to Acer themselves, there does not seem

to be a way to get in direct contact with them. Reason why I joined this community to have my

concerns posted.
Grtngs Fred

I couldn't find any E1-510 with 2GB memory, it was unfortunate for your customer who bought this model with 2GB RAM, I will blame the retailer as Acer has mentioned Standard Memory 4GB in their Data sheet.

http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/model-datasheet/NX.MGREK.001

This is a basic notebook with basic components at an affordable price, misco states clearly it can be upgraded to 8GB in their description, Microsoft also indicated that Windows 8.1 needs only a minimum 2GB memory. So, I believe there's no explanations need from any quarter, IMHO.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/system-requirements

OK, so I see. IMHO they are wrond because the notebook really is slow and no fun at all

to work with. So basicly I think it has to be as I stated before. Still if the manufacturers and

MS think about it this way, there's no case to be won nowhere. I think it is bad news.

I guess I am going to offer them a 2 Gb extra memory and hope it'll solve their problems.
