Here is an explanation of that error http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff560129%28v=vs.85%29.aspx. Do you have Acer recovery disks you can try? I doubt it is hardware if it was working before the HDD wipe and install.

Hi guys
After recently using web root windows washer to reformat a hard drive using the system eraser. I inserted my retail copy of Windows 7 to undergo a clean install but half way through the installation the laptop froze. I therefore restarted the laptop and the windows surprisingly re-commenced and carried on where it had left off. However once the installation had complete the laptop was in a very unstable state whereby if you attempted to open a program you would receive the blue screen of death. So I therefore re - ran the system eraser software to re wipe the hard drive.

Now when I attempt to start the installation it will start up 1st time and get as far as the scrolling bar and states windows files are loading then once this is complete I receive the blue screen again. 1st time I received it I believe it said
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

So I again restarted the laptop by pressing and holding the power button as the computer had also froze, after a few attempts of powering up the laptop nothing would happen unless I left it for an hour or 2 (wouldn't matter if left plugged in or unplugged)

After said hour or 2 the computer would start up again, it would do the same as before then display the blue screen, this time it's stating

Memory management error!!

I have wiped hard drives god knows how many times with the same software and never had any problems. I don't understand what's happened, can someone offer any suggestions?? Is it likely to be an issue with the hard drive, memory or even the motherboard. Would a 3rd attempt at the system eraser help? I presume it wouldn't hurt to do it again.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, if you need any further details please ask.
