I can push FN +F6 and it comes back on for a moment. I would like to try and connect to my TV but I do not know what cables or connectors to purchase to do that. Or can I get any suggestions on hard to remedy the problem. I am not that computer savy to go through the BIOS either. But I can follow instructions.

I can not even get to speak to a tech for it is out of warranty.

HELP

Hello chglady,

[Fn]+[F6] is the hot key for "screen blank":

- Turns the display screen backlight off to save power. Press any key to return.

Have you tried [Fn]+[F5] for "display toggle":

- Switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if connected) and both.

Otherwise to check with your TV, you need a VGA cable (HD15 male at each end). On the left side of your laptop, you'll find a VGA female connector identified by double rectangle. Connect the TV (switch off) and the laptop (shut down).

On the rear side, check the cleanliness of the ventilation slot. Clean it with a vaccum.
