Did anyone ever find a resolution for this?

I just bought an Acer V3-772G and found the exact same problem with the touchpad - the physical buttons are touch sensistive and so move the cursor when you try to click them, or when you rest you index finger on them. Changing settings in the Elan software cannot fix this, so unless anyone else has found a solution I think this laptop will have to be returned

I have picked up the habit of resting my finger on the left corner of a laptop trackpad. This is fine for older laptops without a multi-touch trackpad but as I have purchased a new Aspire S7 I am finding that by resting my finger on the trackpad that it is intefering with for example right click, 2-finger scroll, etc. so much that these options are not working (probably because I am confusing the trackpad software) whilst my left index finger is touching. As soon as I lift my finger right clicking for example will work but while it is there a right-click does nothing.

Therefore, is there anyway of getting around this so I can continue to work as I do? Or must I break this habit or use a mouse forever more? I have tried using Elan's SmartArea option to ignore touches on the bottom 10% of the trackpad (whilst still allowing clicks) but my resting finger is still causing problems.

Third-party software or configuration tips are welcome

You may attempt to disable multi-touch features of the touchpad in Control Panel.

Every model may have different options available.
